Clinical Director of the Adult Acute Unit

Dr. Violetta Czepowicz has been with the Lighthouse Care Center of Conway since 2003. In this time, she has served in several capacities, including Medical Director for the hospital, Medical Director of Adolescent Services and Medical Director of Adult Acute Services. She currently serves as Clinical Director of the Adult Acute Unit, evaluating and treating adults.

Dr. Czepowicz completed her medical schooling at the Copernicus Academy of Medicine in Cracow, Poland, which included an internship in medicine, pediatrics, surgery and obstetrics, as well as a residency in psychiatry. She also completed additional residencies in psychiatry at the Medical Center of Delaware and Delaware State Hospital and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Furthermore, Dr. Czepowicz completed a Fellowship in Clinical Research on Anxiety Disorders at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, S.C.

Dr. Czepowicz has been a co-investigator in no less than 20 research projects that evaluate the efficacy of a variety of psychotropic medications in the treatment of many of the more common psychiatric diagnoses such as major depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder and social phobias. Additionally, she has made multiple research presentations at professional conferences, been published in professional journals, and taught classes in medicine, psychiatry and the behavioral sciences. From 1994 until 2003, she served as Assistant Professor in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at MUSC. She has also taught at UNC Chapel Hill.

Dr. Czepowicz is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as in Addiction Medicine.
